Our story
Hi — we’re Jake and Antonia.

We’ve built our whole life around this continent. Between us there are years of guiding, of lodges visited, of long dusty drives to check whether a place is really as good as its photographs. Somewhere in the middle of that, three children arrived — and started coming with us.

Africa, Always is the small, deliberate side of what we do. You tell us who’s coming, what you dream about, and roughly what you’d like to spend. We design the journey ourselves, from the first camp to the last transfer, and we stay on the other end of the phone the whole way through.

We plan for honeymooners, old friends, solo travellers and grandparents as often as we do for families. The brief never changes: only send people where we’d go ourselves.

About us
The two people you’ll be dealing with.

Antonia Hoddinott

Safari Co-ordinator & Logistics

Antonia is an award-winning chef, author and foodie at heart. She will be your first port of call for anything and everything — from confirming your booking and answering questions before you leave, to being on the other end of WhatsApp while you are in-country. If something needs doing, Antonia will make it happen.

Jake Hoddinott

Safari Planning & Design

Having started his career as a safari guide, Jake understands the essence of what a safari should be. Jake is the architect behind your itinerary. He has personally visited the lodges, driven the roads and walked the reserves on your route. The reason every element of this trip feels considered is because it is — Jake built it that way.

Making a difference

One percent of every
booking stays in Africa.

1% of each booking funds conservation initiatives within Africa’s wildlife sanctuaries, and social upliftment programmes in the areas surrounding the great game parks.

We choose camps that employ locally, buy locally and tread lightly — and we’ll tell you honestly when one doesn’t.
